Here’s a bit about my background…
Currently residing in Bellingham, Washington, I spend my days planning travel, volunteering, crafting and enjoying time in nature. Growing up in Laurel Canyon, in Los Angeles, gave me an appreciation for living in natural environments that led to my moving first to Portland, Oregon, and eventually, to Seattle and then Bellingham.
As an educator in diverse communities for 30 years, I had the opportunity to grow in my understanding of how cross-cultural experiences could help build positive connections among participants. I also traveled with my students, watching them grow through exposure to the values and traditions of other cultures.
Taking my travel interests one step further, I enrolled in an associate degree program in travel marketing at a local community college, with the intent to start some type of travel service that focused on connecting more deeply with local cultures once I retired.
Planning independent travel to Italy over the past two decades has given me a deep personal knowledge of the country and led me to creating Roads Less Traveled Italy. Fluent in Italian, I have longtime relationships with locals and am constantly learning about new hidden gems to share with my travelers. I am now also teaching courses through local continuing education programs on how to travel off the beaten path to Italy.
As a retired school counselor, I pride myself on superlative customer service, as well as a thorough desire to assist travelers in turning their ideas into reality.
I’d love to put my experience as an Italy trip planner to work for you, helping craft a unique journey to the places I have come to love.
I look forward to hearing from you soon!
